How to use a Blackwing pencil sharpener
A few years ago I had a company called J B Welly that sold luxury notebooks and writing instruments online. Blackwing was the brand of pencils I carried. They are the most fabulous, high-quality pencils around and I loved selling them.
I used to make videos for J B Welly, and this is one of my favorites. As you might expect, it’s full of silly pencil puns.
Blacking Pencils are still my go-to pencils for drawing and sketching. The Blackwing Matte are equielant to a 4B in graded pencils.
Blackwing Pencils come in 4 versions:
Blackwing Matte. These are the original Blackwing pencils from Palomino. They have a soft lead and are ideal for artists.
Blacking Pearl. These have a lead that is a good balance between soft and firm, and are a great general purpose pencil.
Blackwing 602. These are the legendary pencils that devoted a very dedicated following throughout the later part of the twentieth century. After they were discontinued in 2002. Soon after, the company Palomino bought the name and resurrected the Blackwing 602.
Blackwing Natural. These have a natural cedar wood finish and use an extra-firm lead. They are great for writing.
If you’re interested in using the Blackwing Long Point Sharpener featured in the video, which I totally recommend, you can get them HERE.
